Aysedasi's Le Mans

Having returned to base it was now time for a wonderful cool shower and then it was a case of desperately trying to stay awake before we went out to eat. I did that by FaceTiming Jayne and then sorting out the remainder of my photographs and video and copying them onto my laptop.

Having had such an excellent meal there on Tuesday evening it was a very easy choice to return to the Hippopotamus Grill for our final evening meal of the trip. Because we were all so tired we went there as early as possible and were parked up and ready to go in as soon as they opened, their first customers of the evening! Once again we had a really excellent meal of posh burgers or chicken burgers all round. It may have been fairly basic fare but it was delicious after having had circuit food for two days. Lauren couldn't resist having the Feuilletté aux Quetsches again for dessert (!), while James and I had taster desserts, small portions of several desserts, which were superb. The three of them then insisted on paying for me as thanks for my chauffeuring duties over the week which was very kind of them. 

We were back at the hotel by 8:15, saying farewell at that point to Allon as he was being picked up by Sean at the unearthly hour of 5:00 the next morning and then, finally, it was time for a last FaceTime with Jayne and to fall into bed for my first proper sleep since Friday night.
