Mulsanne, Sunshine and Coffee....

It had always been part of our plan to look out for our French friend Pascal or his children Vincent and Amandine at Mulsanne, having met him there last year and lo and behold we bumped into him straight away in the car park as we arrived!  We all walked to the corner, pausing here and there to watch, now in full daylight.  It was quite a cool morning but the sun was now very much in evidence and we had high hopes for a hot sunny day at last.

We stood overlooking Mulsanne Corner and watched the race until about 7 am when we all came down off the banking to have some breakfast.  Coffee and croissants were the order of the morning and gave us all a well-earned boost.

But James, Tony and I had to make a decision at this point as to whether to take a short break from the action with a nip back to our 'digs'.  I think James was actually quite keen to keep going but to be honest, I did need a break - even if it was only for a few minutes - after all, I was going to get pretty hot if I didn't dispose of my long johns soon!  I'm also a bit older than both James and Tony, and I do tend to feel the pace after being awake all night!

So we said au revoir to Pascal, Amandine and Vincent and made our way back to the car.  We dropped Robert off at the main circuit entrance before heading back to our hotel.  Once there, we had absolutely no intention of lounging around - just enough time for a quick wash and change of t-shirt and underwear and that all-important brush of the teeth and I was ready to head back to the car and off again to the circuit.
