After our leisurely meal, which was a relatively
quiet one due to the race running under the safety car (and enabled me to phone
home while I could hear what I was saying!), it was time to return to what has
become our 'evening home' at Le Mans, the spectator area overlooking Tertre
Rouge corner. As I've said repeatedly over the last few years since the
corner was reprofiled, for me, this has become the best spectator viewing area
anywhere around the circuit, particularly if you happen to have a camera in your
hand for most of the time....
It was still dry and even if it wasn't sunny any
more, it will still pretty warm, already a lot warmer than it had been at this
same time last year and it was great to watch the race over a period of no more
than 30-40 minutes as the light died away and we headed into my 27th race night
at Le Mans. I mentally settled down to savour the truly mesmerising part
of the great race once again....
As always, I took a lot of photographs at Tertre
Rouge and have reproduced a sample of them here....
