All Over for Another Year - Here's to a Happier 2014
Suffice to say, I had no problem sleeping on Sunday night, although I did wake up just after 7 am. Once all three of us were up and about, we headed up to the bar Le Havane for a final breakfast at Le Mans in 2013, purchasing some goodies for madame back at the hotel while we were up there at the shops.
I don't recall now when we actually left Le Mans for the journey home. Obviously we packed our bags and said our farewells for another year to our ever-helpful and pleasant hosts, and set off on the journey back to Le Havre.
James was very keen that Tony should have the same experience as we had had on the way to Le Mans in 2012, so we detoured to sample the delights again of the little ferry at Bac de Quillebeuf.
As we headed into Le Havre, it was a case of trying to use James' satnav to locate a supermarket for the pre-journey home shopping - a task which always seems to be much harder than it should be! But we made it eventually. By 4.10 pm we were into the queue for the 5 pm ferry back to Portsmouth.
I'd love a fiver for every time I've said 'It was an uneventful journey on the ferry', but that's exactly what it was. We had a meal in the restaurant and docked and left the ferry just before 10 pm, UK-time. My good friend Ian again kindly came and picked me up and took me home. I finally rolled in around midnight.
